opened REQ0250246 with QTS to reseat cartridges.
Whiteboard: REQ0250246
QTS reseated the cartridges but the switch is still showing no MAC addresses learned. can you confirm on your end that you're still getting APIPA? it's now at the log in screen so i can't run any commands as i don't have the login to the device. :dhouse, were the NIC firmware updated on these cartridges?

Cartridge 30, I mounted an iso and installed an OS yesterday. I did this to try to troubleshoot the issue. Yes it still getting APIPA.

can we flash the firmware on these cartridges again? if that doesn't work, i can request HPE to replace them.

I am reapplying the firmware update on cartridges 29,30 on moon-chassis-14 (mdc2). Current firmware versions: ``` c29: #Cartridge 29 Product Name: ProLiant m710x Server Cartridge Cartridge System ROM Firmware: Unavailable Cartridge System ME ROM Firmware: Unavailable Cartridge Data: 11/13/2017 Cartridge Programmable Logic Device: 14 Cartridge iLO Firmware: v 2.55.1 31-May-2018 Cartridge Mellanox ConnectX3Pro Firmware: 2.42.5026 c30: #Cartridge 30 Product Name: ProLiant m710x Server Cartridge Cartridge System ROM Firmware: H07 05/10/2018 Cartridge System ME ROM Firmware: 10/17/2017 Cartridge Data: 11/13/2017 Cartridge Programmable Logic Device: 14 Cartridge iLO Firmware: v 2.55.1 31-May-2018 Cartridge Mellanox ConnectX3Pro Firmware: 2.42.5026 ```
The updater did not re-apply the firmware updates despite the "force" argument. The log show them skipped since the cartridges already have the target versions of the firmware. ``` ..\MS_firmware_update_3.3.02\MS_firmware_update.exe -F -z -p -r -C c29-30 -v -t all -d FirmwareToDeploy.txt -f TargetChassisMDC2.txt -u https://releng-puppet2.srv.releng.mdc2.mozilla.com/repos/private/firmware/FCP_2018.02.13 | tee.exe mdc2_c14-29-30-reapply3.log ``` We'll have to try manually performing the firmware updates from ilo to see if those will re-apply.
:dhouse, did you need me to do anything on my next trip to MDC2?
Summary: reseat moon14 cartridge 29 and 30 → [MDC2] reseat moon14 cartridge 29 and 30
(In reply to Van Le [:van] from comment #7) > :dhouse, did you need me to do anything on my next trip to MDC2? Thanks Van! No, I don't need anything done for this one. I need to try the firmware update again since it didn't work with HP's update tool.
