Environment: Device: Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 (Android 8.0), Huawei MediaPad M2 (Android 5.1.1), Google Pixel (Android 9) Google Pixel XL (Android 9); Build: Nightly 64.0a1 (2018-10-10); Steps to reproduce: 1. Go on google.com; 2. Write something on the search field (ex. mozilla); 3. Select a text from the autocomplete form pop-up. Expected result: Tapping on a word from the autocomplete form pop-up does the search on the term. Actual result: Tapping on a word from the autocomplete form pop-up doesn't search the term. Notes: Also, after step 3 if you tap the search button from keyboard doesn't search the term.
Stefan: Can you please test on the most recent versions of Firefox to see if this can be reproduced? For now marking this as a P1 as this scenario should work.

Hi Marcia, I can confirm this issue on the latest version of Nightly 66.0a1 (2018-12-18) and Release 64.0.1 using Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 (Android 8.0) and Google Pixel (Android 9). Note: The search is possible only if you tap on the magnifying glass of the search bar.

Google has had this behavior for as long as I can remember. We don't get the same Google search site on mobile as Chrome. We would need to check with the Mozilla-Google mailing list to understand what the expected behavior is.
Adam, can you check in with Google about this issue? Thanks!
Hey thanks Liz. I think this is a duplicate of https://github.com/webcompat/web-bugs/issues/14247. We haven't received a response to this one so far, but I will follow up. Since Bugzilla won't let me close this as a duplicate of a Github report, closing as Incomplete.
