From Bugzilla Helper:

Mozilla 1.0 for Mac can import address books during installation process from
previous built. But it cannot import newly created ldif files. I exported one
of my address books that already exist within my Mozilla 1.0, and tried to
import that file, but failed in vain. Import utility recognize the ldif as if
it were a text file, and when I choose to push "next" button, it tells me that
it found no address book.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Go to "address book" from Menu bar "window"
2.Choose "import" from "tool"
3.Choose ldif file, and proceed.

Actual Results: Import utility says that it found no address book.

Expected Results: LDIF file should be imported into "address book."

There has been no problem in the import utility in Mozilla 0.9.9, 1RC1, 1RC2 and
1RC3 for MacOS9.x. My hardware is iMac (early 2001) with 768 MB RAM. OS9.1.

Reopening. This bug is about importing an ldif file where as bug# 121725 is
about importing Mozilla address books.

Reporter, What happens in a more recent build?

Resolution: DUPLICATE → ---
WorksForMe using FizzillaCFM/2002081416. I export my Personal Address Book as
test.ldif and successfully reimported it as a new address book named test, with
all entries intact.
Reporter: Can you reproduce this bug with a recent build of Mozilla (for
example, 1.4 RC1)? If so, then please comment again with details. If not, then
please resolve this bug as WORKSFORME. Thanks.
Mac classic builds are "dead"

You could try a 1.3.1 OS classic build from here :
