Details

javascript window.close should not closes whole mozilla when used in tab. It
should only close itself "the tabbed window".

The following link presents two demo pages.

http://eming.net/mozilla/bug

One automatically closes window using <body onLoad="setTimeout(window.close, 5000)">

The other has a simple onclick="window.close()".

Open those pages with "open link in new tab" to see the effects.

Actually, there are two bugs here. You duped it against one of them. The other
bug is bug 103452, which is about making sure only the tab and not the whole
window is closed. The second bug has been fixed, so if you try your tests in a
recent nightly it'll work as expected.
