1501852 - Archive to Local Folders not working from Imap folder (not INBOX). Requires changing preferences per identity

Steps to reproduce:

I have an account with "plus addressing" where messages arrive in folders other than the inbox. I have archiving set up to move messages to the Local Folders.

Archive a message from Inbox: message is moved to Archives folder on Local Folders.

Archive message from folder not Inbox: message is moved to (newly created) Archives folder on IMAP server.

Moving a message from a folder not Inbox to Inbox and then archiving: message is moved to Local Folders/Archives.

The account is with fastmail. It only happens with the fastmail account, not with the other accounts, so may be specific to IMAP configuration. Fastmail account is also the first account added. The issue happens both on the latest version shipped with ubuntu as with previous versions. I did a fresh install, recreating accounts - same issue.


Actual results:

Messages are archived to IMAP folder, despite configuration for archiving to Local Folders.


Expected results:

Messages should be archived to Local Folders.

I don't use plus addressing, but I archive messages from non-Inbox all the time to local folders. 

Does this also happen in safe mode?

Thanks for replying! Yes it does.

But... I discovered that it applies to folders associated with identities! And identities have separate settings for folders!!!

This is news for me but indeed I found that the identities had not had their archive folder moved to Local Folders! I have been looking for this for years!
