User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/70.0.3538.77 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce: Thunderbird 60.2.1 (32 bits) in Dutch Trying to create a new e-mail message (Opstellen button). Thunderbird crashes. It has probably to do with a fact that signature has been used. When no singnature is used, I do not have any problems. Actual results: Thunderbird crashes. Expected results: It should not have crashed. Remark: In previous version I do not have any problems.

There was a problem that TB would hang/freeze on a signature referencing a non-existent file. This has been fixed in TB 60.3 which is due for release in the next 24 hours, see bug 1495698. I don't know anything of a crash in that context. Can you download this version and try? http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/candidates/60.3.0-candidates/build2/win32/nl/ If it were a crash, could you give us the crash signature which you can obtain from "Help > Troubleshooting Information".
I was not precise enough. It was not a crash. Real description would be that TB froze, as you wrote. I installed the version from the link and it works now. Thanks.

Please note that the hang only occurs if you're referencing a non-existent file in your signature. So I expect that the signature doesn't look like intended.
Summary: Thunderbird 60.2.1 (32 bits) - Thunderbird crashes when trying to create a new e-mail message, in case when signature is used from html file from a folder on a local machine → Thunderbird 60.2.1 (32 bits) - Thunderbird hangs when trying to create a new e-mail message, in case when signature is used from html file from a folder on a local machine
Yes, you are right. I was referencing a png file in a signature, which was not on a specified location. That was the real problem. I was able to see that after the new version was installed and corrected it.
