bugs.mozilla.org redirect gets HTTPS "not secure" warnings

Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:65.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/65.0
Steps to reproduce:
I entered bugs.mozilla.org in my browser's location field (confusing Mozilla with the hundred other sites that use a "bugs" subdomain).
Actual results:
Firefox popped up its scary HTTPS security warning. I clicked the button titled, roughly, [Accept the risk and continue] so I can no longer see Firefox's warning. curl complains
curl: (51) SSL: no alternative certificate subject name matches target host name 'bugs.mozilla.org'
and chromium displays
NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID
This server could not prove that it is bugs.mozilla.org; its security certificate is from *.bugzilla.mozilla.org. This may be caused by a misconfiguration or an attacker intercepting your connection.
Expected results:
The redirect is surely useful, so avoid https/cert errors on https://bugs.mozilla.org.
