racham and I are testing the new changes on my mac right now.

we expect to land all the new changes (and mark this fixed) today.

marking fixed.  we just landed.

there is a bug using Mozilla Installer on the mac, with one 4.x profile, but
that doesn't appear to be related to any of the profile code.  we're looking at
that now.
