It sounds like we should consider backout for beta and maybe release
for bug 1470786 (with an exception for Focus because backing out that bug would regress text input in Focus).

Steps to reproduce:

Go to google, try to type '파이어폭스'. Every sites rendered by firefox suffers this bug. Address bar is not affected.


Actual results:

파이이어어포폭스 appears.


Expected results:

파이어폭스 should appear.

Jim, do we need to back out bug 1470786? Does this regression warrant a Fennec 63.0.x dot release?

That's probably the best way to fix bug 1490391 on beta/release

Jim so it is bug 1470786 that needs to be backed out on beta and release right? Is it something you could do -- or is it straightforward? (please NI a sheriff if so)

Patch 1 from bug 1470786 is the culprit so I backed that out. Patch 2 is beneficial for stability so I left that in.
