I cannot reply to a private news server (SSL), it worked fine in 0.9.9
What type of server is this? What is the error message you get?

I've had to comment out the server name as this is part of an nda (can't say
more on that). but hopefully that should be enough.
Francis, would you mind supplying us with a log?

http://mozilla.org/quality/mailnews/mail-troubleshoot.html#nntp contains
instructions on how to setup one.

ok I did tail -f on the log, then entered some new lines so the relevent stuff
would be separated from the rest, then I tried to send to the group, I then cut
and pasted this to the attached file, with editing to cover the stuff under
nda.

Anyhow it's clear from the out put that the client is trying to send to port
187 instead of port 563, also I wounder is it using SSL like it should? cheers

Are your server settings in the UI (and in prefs.js) identical?

Yes prefs.js and the UI match.
Reporter: Is this still a problem with a current Mozilla build?
