User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:62.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/62.0 Steps to reproduce: Left firefox up for 1+ day. Not easy to reproduce reliably but after extended usage (1-3 days), switching to a new tab often displays, incorrectly, the content of the previous tab. Actual results: Switching to a different tab incorrectly displays content of the previous tab. Reload helps but then scrolling down leaves blank, or intermittently flickering, page. Requires firefox restart to fix, for another day or two. Happens even when running with flags --no-xshm --sync (and without them as well). Log error messages (repeated often): ###!!! [Parent][DispatchAsyncMessage] Error: SHMEM_CREATED_MESSAGE Payload error: message could not be deserialized [GFX1-]: Failed to create a valid ShmemTextureHost Expected results: Should be able to switch from one tab to another and display the page correctly, regardless of how long firefox has been up.
Forgot to add, forcing firefox to repaint the window helps alleviate (briefly) the problem and restores the tab. Sometimes one sees the content of the previous tab still displayed on the new tab and seconds later it repaints on its own. But most of the time the browser becomes unusable on every tab and needs to be restarted. Same problem reported in an earlier version: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1437678 Note that this only affects firefox and chromium-based browsers on the same computer do not have this problem.
I was not able to reproduce this issue, but I will keep testing it. I opened a couple tabs and left it open for a day. For me worked as expected. Can you provide about:support information here. Thank you

thanks for looking at this bug. The attached PDF is the output of 'about:support' Please let me know if there's anything I should look for or if there is some debugging extension I should use to get more info on this bug. Attached is a screenshot showing how the contents of one tab: https://www.reddit.com/r/SonyAlpha/comments/a0j7mb/weekly_rsonyalpha_ask_anything_about_gear_thread/ got mixed in when I switched to another tab: https://www.flickr.com/groups/2697972@N22/pool/page1 The correct output would be just pictures, not the message threads that got mixed in. This sometimes gets fixed by reloading the tab but, once it happens, gets worse and eventually firefox needs to be restarted to be usable. Please let me know if it would help if I brought up one of the web developer tools when this happens.

Placing it under Firefox: Tabbed Browser. Please feel free if the component is not correct.
Thank you.

Since firefox 65.0, this problem has been greatly reduced.

It used to happen within a day of starting firefox but with 65.0.1 it can take over a week, if ever.
The problem is now minor.
