The download manager window does not show. Neither by selecting it in the tools menu or when starting downloads. I also tried all three preference settings in the 1.1a release. It seems to download fine though. I have had this problem on WinXP and Win2000 (different machines) for several months now trying many different builds. Some of the first builds with DM did work for me.
WFM with trunk 2002080208 win2k. reporter (nikolai): can you reproduce this bug with a recent build of mozilla (for example, 1.1beta)? if so, please try creating a new profile and see if that fixes it and please comment again with details. if not, please resolve this bug as WORKSFORME. thanks.
In all newer builds it works.

As of today I am experiencing a bug exactly matching that description with 1.4 win32 release. I don't remember changing any settings, and I know it worked in the 1.4 release candidates. The download manager does not show. If I do "Save Link Target As", a save as dialog will popup, but nothing happens afterwards. It doesn't even start downloading. Restarting Mozilla doesn't help. If I select to show a progress dialog instead of the download manager, still nothing happens. My Mozilla install appears to be completely incapable of downloading a file to disk now. Should this bug be reopened? Are there any files you'd like me to attach?
