Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:63.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/63.0
Steps to reproduce:
Firefox 60.0.2 64 bit on Win10x64. I had a BSOD caused by nwifi.sys while FF was open.
I was logged in to several accounts, using the build in PW manager.
Actual results:
After reboot, FF tried to restore the last session, prompted for the master password and froze.
So I started FF in Safe mode, closed the tabs from the last session and I was able to start FF normal again.
On start up I was asked for the master password, which was accepted. But no stored login information was available. In the My stored passwords settings, the window was blank.
I feared the worst, but I realized that the stored logins should still be in my %appdata% folder (-> quick backup).
I presumed, that there might be some kind of session lock, which prevents access to the login database by multiple instances. Since the last session was terminated, there might be some session "lock" files somewhere telling FF the login DB was already in use.
Finally I fixed this problem by re-installing FF (now replacing FF v60 with the latest one).
I want to report this problem nevertheless as it might be useful for other users and provide this info to *prevent this kind of error in newer versions of FF*)
Expected results:
Proposal: Better handle the restore session process in FF after a crash. Provide an option to terminate the last session accordingly when FF can not restore the last session and freezes. Prevent the described Password database problem or fix it on session restore.
Hi natowi,

@Daniel_A ...now FF asks for the master password on every start up. The window can be closed, but it is still annoying. Any ideas?
