Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:63.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/63.0 Steps to reproduce: Open Thunderbird Actual results: Thunderbird comes up. However, even though I changed the default font size, the main page (folders on the left, inbox top right) is in a small font. Expected results: If I change the default font size (in display options) it should be shown on the startup page. If I have bad eyes, I should be helped BEFORE I open a message and hit ctrl-+. I am 75. I could use a little help here. I note that FireFox remembers font sizes. Why can't ThunderBird use a default font size for the starup screen??
What exactly do you mean by "startup page"? The page that shows up when you first start Thunderbird, the one that usually talks about donations? You could set layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to - say - 1.2. Do this: Tools > Options, Advanced, General, "Config editor" button. Paste layout.css.devPixelsPerPx into the search box. Change the value from -1.0 to 1.2. BE VERY CAREFUL. If you enter a value that is to big, TB will become absolutely unusable and there is no way back.
This seems to be a mix of issues. Take your pick from https://mzl.la/2CftfcC But on balance it sounds like Bug 570442 - Need larger display font for Thunderbird message list/pane and folder list/pane - which has so many duplicates

I think we can say Jim is gone.
