This is not an acceptable outcome. Only one of the extensions listed on the help page is an actual replacement, Livemarks. It doesn't integrate well with the browser: managing feeds is cumbersome (no UI to add new feeds!), refreshing feeds is only done manually, and it does not integrate with Sync.
The suggestion to use Pocket instead, which for some reason is still a part of the browser, is a complete joke. Firefox should support web standards better than this and not rely on such tools.
Please re-open this bug report.
I should also add that Firefox did not send any kind of warning beforehand, unlike what the help page says.

The decision to remove RSS was done some time ago and a bug report is not the right place to discuss decisions like that.

Please direct me to the right discussion then.
In the meantime, it's a thing that I only discovered overnight, modified my bookmarks without my consent nor any prior warnings (unlike what the help page says), and has no real workaround: the addons collection linked in the help page clearly was not even tested, whoever thought it was a proper answer did a really poor job. Ultimately the feature is still broken, thus a bug report seems appropriate to me.
RSS is a core component of the open web. I expected Firefox to not break it.

See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/page.cgi?id=etiquette.html -> No whining about decisions
The feed reader is gone and will never return as explained here: https://www.gijsk.com/blog/2018/10/firefox-removes-core-product-support-for-rss-atom-feeds/ and the feature got removed with bug 1477667.
That there is no workaround for you or that you think that RSS is a core component of the web (which is wrong according to the statistics) doesn't matter for this report.
PS: It's not my decisions to remove this feature. I'm only an unpaid contributor.

Alright. Found a workaround in the form of the Foxish live RSS addon in Chrome, which to quote "mimics the excellent native handling of RSS and Atom feed reading in Firefox using live bookmarks".
