Device: - Sony Xperia Z5 Premium (Android 7.1.1); Build: - the latest ARM64 build of Fennec Nightly 65.0a1 (2018-12-06); Steps to reproduce: 1. Tap on URL bar and type anything -> the Search Suggestion opt-in prompt is displayed: "Would you like to turn on search suggestions? [No] [Yes]". 2. Tap on [Yes]. 3. Go to Settings -> Search and verify that "Show search suggestions" is enabled. 4. Tap on URL bar and type anything (i.e. fun). Expected result: The search engine should display suggestions. Actual result: No suggestions are displayed. Notes: Not reproducible on Google Pixel (Android 9).

[arm64:m3] because this bug should block ARM64 Fennec from riding to Beta.

Petru, can your team take this on? There is more background here if that helps: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/ARM64

Marking it P1 because this needs to ship by mid-2019 and about 40% of Fennec users are on ARM64.

We are currently aiming to let ARM64 Fennec ride the trains in 67 Beta (March) or 68 Beta (May). We must ship ARM64 by August because that is Google's deadline requiring 64-bit apps in the Google Play Store.

Tested this with multiple devices, can't reproduce it on latest Nightly with Xiaomi Redmi 5 and according to [https://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_redmi_5a-8898.php] it seems to have same CPU architecture as the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium. so my guess here is that this is rather device specific. Mihaela, can you test it on multiple devices please?

Hi Andrei,
I was not able to reproduce this issue anymore on the latest ARM64 build of Fennec Nightly 66.0a1 (2019-01-13).
Devices:
- Sony Xperia Z5 Premium (Android 7.1.1),
- Motorola Nexus 6 (Android 7.1.1),
- Nokia 7 (Android 7.1.1),
- Sony Xperia Z2 (Androiid 6.0.1),
- Nexus 6P (Android 8.1.0).
I will close this issue as WORKSFORME.
Thank you!
