tested on 2002-06-11-08-1.0.0 Win XP Pro. JA 1. Obtain your Certificate Authority 2. Create a Mail&Newsgroups account 3. On Mail&Newsgroups accountSetting dialog box, select Security for creating account 4. Check "Digital sign message" then specify your obtained Certificate Authority by clicking Select button 5. Select "Reqired" to Encryption then specify your obtained Certificate Authority by clicking Select button 6. Open Mail Compose window 7. Click Security icon on Mail Toolbar You will see "Encrypted: Not Possible" 8. Click little triangle on Security icon You will have menu having checked "Encrypt This Message" Shoud be "Encrypted: Possible" when Encryption is checked.

Marking invalid. It appears to be expected behavior. If you have not received a signed email from your intended recipient, you will not be able to send that person an encrypted email.
