Details

Tested in Mozilla 1.0 and Mozilla 1.1a

When trying to save a file with an unknown extention and the webserver fails to
tell the type of file it is, .exe is appended to the filename. Even after
removing the .exe extention from the filename, it is still appended when it is
actually saved.

To cause this, put up a file, it can even be blank, named something like abc.a.
The extention is unknown. Trying to the view the file should result in mozilla
opening a save dialog, if the webserver does not return it as text. I have
downloads set to Open Progress Dialog. The filename filled in is abc.a.exe,
removing the .exe and hitting save will result in abc.a.exe being saved to the disk.
Enclose the filename you want to use with "double quotes" to get windows to
ignore the suggested extension and do what you want.
