Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:66.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/66.0 (20181217093726) I've tested this report on Windows 10 x64 and OS X 10.14.2 using the latest Nightly and Fx release build. I was able to reproduce the mentioned behavior using the Responsive Design mode. When "Search for text when you start typing" is enabled and using RDM, the input is not entered into the field instead a search is initiated as mentioned.

This is a known issue so I will mark it as duplicate. For some reason, the duplicate bug was closed as being a duplicate itself 🤔. I will investigate what happened there. Anyways, feel free to reopen this bug if you feel Bug 1334249 is not related.
