Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.delete mail
2.empty trash
3.mail spontaneously returns!!!!

Actual Results:  It keeps coming back!!!!

Expected Results:  empty the damned trash!!!!

are you an imap user or a local mail/pop user? I'm guessing Local, and -> Navin

He's a pop/local user, so this isn't an imap issue.

My guess is that there aren't x-mozilla-status lines in the messages. Or, the
code that updates the mozilla-status flags in the local folder is broken on the
Mac. How was the mail originally created? You didn't import from another mail
client, did you? To reply, just type in the Additional Comments area and press
the Commit button when done.

Yes, I did import from Netscape 4.79 (Mac version), but this problem involves
the new mail downloaded yesterday and today using Mozilla. At 12:27 PM Thursday,
all the mail I deleted several times yesterday is back again!

importing from netscape 4.x should be fine, so it sounds like updating the
x-mozilla-status flag is not working for you on the mac - Navin, that's a 1.0.0
branch build, so you should check this out. I'm wondering if the file stream
changes are involved.

this seems to work for me. I have a pop mail account.
I am using a migrated 4.x profile
i deleted some mesgs from my inbox. I also moved some
mesgs from my inbox to 'trash' under "Local Folders".
I emptied both trash folders (on pop & local folders).
I did a 'getmsgs' and the deleted email mesgs did not appear.
I quit/relogged in and deleted email did not reappaer. Tried
a different computer and logged in and didn't see any of
my deleted email appearing..


Reporter, you have preference 'Delete messages on server when
they are deleted locally' set? If not, then I could see
why your deleted email keeps reappearing.

have you tried a more recent build?

This happens for me too. I'm using 1.1a on Win2K with service packs and did a
mail import (manual drag of Inbox.msf files from Mozilla 1.0fcs).  The messages
in question are fresh from my POP provider (Yahoo.com) and retreived by 1.1a. 
It does not matter whether the messages you are trying to delete are fresh or
old, they are  not deleted.  Hitting the delete key, choosing the delete menu
option have no effect.

whoa, dragging your Inbox.msf files is not a manual import. Your mail messages
are in Inbox, not Inbox.msf - did you create a new profile for using with 1.1a?
