From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC; en-US; rv:1.1a) Gecko/20020611 BuildID: 2002061103 In the drop-down menu for opening a new page (on a Mac, click-hold on a hot link), the selection "Open Link in New Tab" has been the topmost one for many builds over many months. With this build, it is second; "Open Link in New Window" is now on top. This is not good. Why did it change? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: click-hold on a hot link Actual Results: note that the entries are reversed from all previous builds Expected Results: the entries should not have been rearranged
confirmed To replicate this bug click with the right mouse button on a link in your browser. A small menu opens. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.0.0) Gecko/20020530 Top Menu Selection: "Open Link in New Tab" Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.1a) Gecko/20020611 Top Menu Selection: "Open Link in New Window" Two reasons I think support putting the top menu selection back to the tab option as in Mozilla 1.0.0: 1.) Most of the end-users will now continue using Mozilla 1.0 (not yet changing to Mozilla 1.1 as still Alpha). So they will get used to the settings of Mozilla 1.0. 2.) Personally (and I think most of the other users) more often choose to open in a new tab instead of a new window.
