User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/64.0.3282.140 Safari/537.36 Edge/17.17134 Steps to reproduce: Opening Firefox (x64 build) the browser opens as does the bookmarks toolbar. The program tries to open the homepage (set to http://www.bbc.co.uk/news). I am not sure if this is linked to the Windows update that I ran - it may be coincidence. Actual results: The icon in the top right goes back and forth but no website is loaded. There is no error message (500, 404 etc) returned. Occasionally in the bottom left hand corner there is the status of "Waiting for TLS Handshake". When I quit and reopen Firefox, it says that it is still running. Looking at Task Manager there are always 3 open instances in background processes before the browsers crashes. I am not able to run in safe mode due to this constant issue The result is the same if it is a typed URL, a link from another browser or from a bookmark. This result is also duplicated regardless of location - it happens at home on an Ethernet network and also on my wifi network at work. At all times, I have Microsoft Edge running to ensure that there is connectivity. Expected results: The website should have loaded

We have billions of Firefox users without such a problem and that mean in many cases that this is something special about your system. I would guess it's caused by your AVG Antivirus Software. The crash signature is from a shutdown hang and looks also related to the networking code.

Hello reporter, Can we have more details? Like it works before Windows update or works after disable AVG Antivirus. Does "Tools>Web Developer>Networks" show the packet arrive successfully?
