Project Name: WeTransfer Extension for Thunderbird
Repo: https://github.com/thundernest/wetransfer-extension
Project Description: Send large email attachments via WeTransfer using Thunderbird's Filelink feature.
Priority: 1 star (in comparison to Firefox)
Exact Deadline: TBD
Locales: All Thunderbird locales

This is a system add-on for Thunderbird we are looking to ship ASAP on the Thunderbird 60 ESR cycle. We're looking to add it as a separate project into pontoon as this would allow for localization outside of the normal train.

It is currently only 5 strings, one of which is a tagline that could be provided/translated by WeTransfer themselves. The repo is set up to use pontoon-to-webext.

As far as I am aware (Geoff can confirm), staging will happen on the github repo and it can be uplifted to production by pushing to comm-central.
That was my intention, yes.
Could you clarify if this something that is going to happen with some frequency, or if it's a one-off request?

Also note that a lot of folks are on PTO because of holidays, and this might take some time.
We don't have anything similar in the pipeline I am aware of, so consider this a one-off. If we can find a way to allow updating ESR strings in Thunderbird it would likely allow us to do this kind of thing in Thunderbird instead.
Sorry for delay. We're going to set up this project as a one-off. If this kind of requests becomes more common, we need to find a different long term strategy.

Please add Pontoon's bot with write access to your repository.

Once that's fixed and verified on stage, I can enable the project on Pontoon, and it will need to be communicated to localizers.

Thanks a bunch! I've added mozilla-pontoon as a collaborator for that repo with write access, it is waiting for a response. Let me know once it is up and we'll communicate this to localizers. Is dev.l10n still the channel used for such requests, or do you use another channel by now?

Invitation accepted!
Stage committed Italian correctly, I've just enabled the project on production. It should show up in about 10 minutes, after the first sync.

Could you create an account on Pontoon? I could also set you as point of contact for the Thunderbird projects.

Communication: dev-l10n and #l10n are good places to announce it. The latter is also syndicated on a Telegram channel.

I have one, my account is https://pontoon.mozilla.org/contributors/vfVxE1MAJe3FpS-slV-6dFmeO3k/ I am already set as a point of contact for Thunderbird.

Geoff, can you take care of the announcing?
