All new, unread IMAP mail is set to "read" if I click "OK" when Mozilla prompts
me to "Compact all folders to save disk space?".

This has happened with previous builds, but does not seem to be already reported.

I typically have on the order of 4000 emails in my inbox, several hundred of
which are "unread", and 7500 emails in my Sent folder, plus many other nested

I'm running Mozilla 1.0 {Build ID: 2002053012}
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.0.0) Gecko/20020530

I'm using Theme=Pinball 1.0.3 for Mozilla 1.0 (though I've had the same bad
behavior using "Modern")

I have a related problem. But not with the IMAP mails. All new, unread _news
messages_ are set to "read" if I click "OK" after Mozilla prompts me to "Compact
all folders to save disk space?". That's very annoying. I have tested all the
possible settings, but it seems not to matter at all. It seems to happen when
the unread messages are very old (2 - 4 weeks old).

Can't reproduce on XP with 1.4, 150MB of mail in 2 dozen folders, lots unread.

WFM. Reopen if this still comes up in current build, and mention what IMAP
server you're using (e.g. cyrus, courier, Novell...)
