Hmm… one of the web extensions is probably disabling password saving via https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Add-ons/WebExtensions/API/privacy/services#Properties
I have also seen anti-virus software trying to delete saved Firefox logins and prevent saving before. You could try uninstalling Norton Password Manager while also running Firefox in Safe Mode and see if the problem continues.

Also, the API for an extension to remove passwords is https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Add-ons/WebExtensions/API/browsingData/removePasswords.

I installed Norton Password Manager after this problem with passwords appeared. Norton Password Manager is currently helping me to partially resolve this issue. This extension for Firefox has found all the passwords and uploaded to its database. But the Firefox does not display the passwords of the key4.db file

OK, can you at least test in Safe Mode to help diagnose the problem? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode

Note that logins are stored in logins.json, the decryption key is in key4.db.

comment #1 says it works in safe mode. I don't really understand what else could cause this type of breakage.

Hmm… I missed that.
heruvim.6w, can you run in Safe Mode navigate to the Privacy Preferences, open the Browser Console, clear the console output, then open the Password Manager list. Attach the Browser Console output to the bug.

Oops, I forgot to tell you to set the pref signon.debug to True first. Can you try again?

If you go to about:config, read the warning, click "I accept the risk", then put 'signon.debug' in the filter box at the top. Doubleclick on that line in the list (should be the only one left). Then restart in safe mode, navigate to the Privacy Preferences, open the Browser Console, clear the console output, then open the Password Manager list. Attach the Browser Console output to the bug.
Thank you!

Hello! I don't know what happened. But the sync just started to work. I think it was our state organisation Roskomnadzor that blocked one of the synchronization servers for Russia. Therefore, the synchronization temporarily did not work. There are no other assumptions. I have not yet understood why the passwords were not displayed at first. But I can't repeat the steps you write about. Thank you for your participation and help. If the problem persists, I can go through the steps and give you the necessary information.

OK, good to hear it's working now. We'll resolve this as "works for me" for now, and we can reopen if this happens again and then investigate some more. Thanks for all your replies.
