1519767 - search hand-off interacts poorly with bookmark keywords

search hand-off results in unexpected actions if the search term happens trigger a keyword search.

steps:

1. create a bookmark with a keyword "cheese"
2. type "cheese" into the search box on the new tab page

expected:

• a search is performed for "cheese"

actual:

• focus is automatically shifted to the awesome bar
• awesome bar parses request, which is different from new-tab's "this is always a search" outcome
• the "cheese" bookmark is invoked

this hits me most often when i'm pasting text that i know i want to search for. muscle memory has me pasting and hitting return quickly. as i use the unified navigation+search bar the field on new-tab used to be my best option for "actually search for this text".

perhaps the text should be prefixed with ? when it is handed over to the awesome bar to force a search?

Prepending "? " sounds good to me. But see also Bug 1519713.
