There's a file that was used by Instantbird to export additional NSS symbols necessary for SIPE (which was statically linked into purplexpcom) which is no longer used.
These changes were https://hg.mozilla.org/comm-central/rev/aaa2b5c67874 / bug 1237140.
I confirmed this is unused with grep -r "nss-purple.symbols" comm
