User Story

In the past we showed a message warning users that Service Workers could not be debugged if e10s was on.

When the new revamped SW implementation lands, this should not be necessary anymore, and we want everyone on e10s = on.

I don't have a solution right now, but I have some ideas, in order of ease for the user:

- enable e10s automagically
- provide a button to do it (inline, next by the warning in about:debugging?)
- show a message suggesting they go to about:config and change it

The discussion in bug 1400074 concluded with the "automagic" solution – which would simply revert any user who previously opted into single-e10s, to multi-e10s.

Main arguments were:

a) Any user who got the pref toggled did so because of SW-debugging and
b) There is no other good reason to manually switch multi-e10s off

Is this still reasonable, or do we have new assumptions that would impact this conclusion?

I think the work is already tracked in Bug 1400074, so closing this as a duplicate.
