User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Android 7.1.1; Tablet; rv:66.0) Gecko/66.0 Firefox/66.0

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open twitter.com/firefoxnightly

Actual results:

Posts don't open (Whoops! Something went wrong. Please try again!)

Posts don't load (Loading seems to be taking a while)

Elements are missing (Who to follow... )

Expected results:

The site should function properly.

Thank you for your report. I wasn't able to reproduce the issue. Did the issue occur with the Request desktop site option enabled (as suggested in the bug title) ? Could you try maybe to clear cache and cookies and retry accessing the link?

Thank you for looking into it.

Yes, this was with request desktop site enabled.

I wasn't able to reproduce with desktop site enabled. This is still reproducible with latest Nightly (67.0a1) for you? Do you have some extra steps? If you have time, a video will be helpful.

Your video and your description are a bit different and please next time, if you have time, add also a video to the bugs.
I was able to reproduce only the part with "loading seems to be taking a while", no issues in opening the posts and the elements from the page was displayed.

Would you mind elaborating on how it should have been?

Sorry for not responding sooner.
My point was that I didn't see in the video that you try to open a post as you said in the description and for the elements that don't load, the same behavior is on chrome as well. I will set the bug as new for "loading seems to be taking a while" and see also what devs can do about the missing elements.

Can you try this on the Reference Browser or Focus? It may also affect geckoview.

Do you have any add-ons installed or Tracking Protection enabled? Does the loading problem happen only in the Twitter desktop site?

Summary: Desktop site issues on Twitter → Tweets fail to load on Twitter desktop site: "Whoops! Something went wrong.", "Loading seems to be taking a while"

I wasn't able to reproduce with the Reference Browser.

I was beginning to think Ublock Origin was the cause but it happens with a fresh install.

The loading problem is only with the desktop site.

Are you able to successfully click "Show This Thread" on twitter.com/firefox?

Are you able to successfully click "Show This Thread" on twitter.com/firefox?

Yes, tested today on 66 Beta 13 and latest Nightly build (05/03/19) and I was able to open the thread using a tablet and desktop site enabled and disabled.

It might be related to https://webcompat.com/issues/28072 We suspect that Twitter was doing a/b testing on new layout. Those who has the new layout activated was not be able to open some pages. Maybe that's why some people can't reproduce this.
