Steps to reproduce:

OS: Ubuntu 16.04.5 LTS x86_64
Kernel: Linux 4.4.0-112-generic
CPU: Intel i7-4771 (8) @ 3.900GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970
Font: Ubuntu 11 [GTK2/3]

  1. Start Thunderbird instance
  2. Menu -> Edit -> Preferences
  3. Click on any side-tab item other than the tab that is currently open

Actual results:

The Menu -> Edit -> Preferences step opens to the "General" tab item
Clicking on any other tab item (Display, Composition, ...) does not open the corresponding page. Stuck on General page.

Expected results:

Clicking on any other tab item (Display, Composition, ...) should open the corresponding page.

From the Error console:
Menu -> Edit -> Preferences
TypeError: control.radioChildConstructed is not a function[Learn More] radio.xml:29:13
radio_XBL_Constructor chrome://global/content/bindings/radio.xml:29

Yes, version 66 is broken. I suggest to switch to TB 65 beta 4.
