Just a thought...
While things like snippets, CFR, Pocket recs, heartbeat etc. are generally useful to most Firefox users, there's a vocal minority of folks (twitter, reddit, hn, they're easy to find...) who find all of this stuff to be unnecessary or deleterious to their experience of Firefox.
Propose we make a global about config flag to be checked by by all services in Firefox that message users through the browser. Something like browser.communications.donotdisturb
. The vast majority of users won't bother with this, but it could serve as a good way to provide a centralized annoyance mitigation tool for developers and users alike

I think this is a brilliant idea, and a pressure release valve for a vocal minority of people using Firefox.
