Details

Discovered with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.0.0)
Gecko/20020612

To replicate:
-Have a "save as" or "open" file window open
-Go to mail and doubleclick a message summary to view the message in "full
screen" mode as a standalone window.

Result: The message window is blank.
Once I close the modal box, messages I double click are displayed as expected.

Expected: Either
1) You can see the message OR
2) that the window doesn't open at all if Mozilla doesn't like that I had the
modal box open.
Opened modal box should not allow any other actions before closing this modal
dialog.
If the user is in the Mail Application and has the "Save as" dialog open to save
a particular msg, and then tries to go back to the Main Mail window and open
another message, Olga is correct, the "Save as" dialog is modal to the Mail
window so the user shouldn't be able to give focus back to the Main Mail window
before closing the "Save as" dialog.

If the user is in another application though, the Browser for instance, and
opens the "save as" or "open" file dialog, they should be able to go to the Mail
window and open a message. The Save as and Open dialogs should be model to the
browser window in this case, but not the Mail window. I tried this and was able
to go the the Mail window and try and open a message. The message did not open.
I closed the Save as dialog and then the message i was trying to open appeared.
In the 6/20 trunk now nothing happens when I doubleclick a message so I guess
the problem "went away". I will mark worksforme.

If the 'Save as' dialog is open from the mail window, and you try and give focus
to the Main Mail window, does it let you? It shouldn't. It should beep at you.
If I select Save As - File then try to click a message while the dialog is open,
I *am* able to read mail. It does not ding and the Save As window goes behind.

(using 6/20 trunk build on Win2K)

The fact that the user can click on the Main Mail window when the Save As dialog
is already opened from the Main Mail window is still an issue. Save As dialog
should be modal to the Main Mail window. Olga, should that be a separate bug?
Marking this verified worksforme - OK using nov20 commercial trunk, win98 and
linux rh8.
Will look for existing bug or log one regarding save as being modal. Will note
the bug here.
