Devices:

  • Samsung Galaxy S6 (Android 7.0);
  • Google Pixel (Android 9.0);

Builds:

  • Nightly 67.0a1 (2019-02-03);
  • Beta 66.0b3;
  • Release 65.0;

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Launch Fennec and open a random page.
  2. Tap on URL bar to select the link.
  3. Long tap on the selected link, tap on three dots from the triggered menu, and scroll down until the option "Search Privately" is visible.

Expected result:
The option "Search Privately" should be displayed one time.

Actual result:
The option "Search Privately" is tripled.

Notes:
Please see the attached video.

After further investigations and tests, I discovered that a "Search Privately" option is going to be added for every browser that can handle that action (e.g: Firefox Focus, even Opera can be used as an option).

Therefore, is this really a defect?
Until further changes I will mark this as INVALID.

I will reopen this issue and mark it as an enhancement, and here is my logic:

  • even if the user has more than one private browser, the "Search privately" does not display which browser will open the link with;
  • if the user has more than one private browser, after "Search privately" was tapped, a pop-up window should be displayed with the available private browsers, and the user could choose.

Thank you!

During triage, marking this as a P4 since it seems from the discussion we cannot do much about it because the number of browsers installed.

Priority: -- → P4
Priority: P4 → P5

Un-assigning myself from this issue since it didn't came to a conclusion.
