after downloading the latest build file mozilla-win32-installer.exe for this
build and running it, I get to the point where the install is about to start
downloading files. I press the button to go. and the following error dialog appears
"setup has encountered a network problem and has paused the download. IF you
have just lost your network connection, please click resume once your network
has been reestablished". I have attached the dialog box picture.
The network was not down. I have had this problem is multiple locations with
different network providers. In fact, just after receiving this error I
downloaded the full install file mozilla-win32-installer-sea.exe and this worked ok.

are you sure you have a net connection?

if so then switch to HTTP in the proxy screen using custom setup

net connection is ok. I can download the full version of the install at the same
time as the fault occurs.
switching to http download works
someone changed something with the installer to stop it working because it used
to work. It must now be using standard FTP (versus passive) because I am behind
a NATed firewall and only passive FTP works. I'm not going to be the only one
behind a firewall where ftp doesn't work. Perhaps configure the "complete"
install to use passive ftp or http as the default.

installer was recently, of unknown (untold) reasons switched to HTTP download.

WFM since installer switched to HTTP
HTTP will work for more people in more situations than FTP
I think this one could be closed
