From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.0rc1) Gecko/20020425 BuildID: 1.0RC1 2002042521 I was browsing and while waiting for the page to load attempted to move some messages from my IMAP Inbox to another IMAP folder by multi-select and drag-and-drop action. While dragging the messages to the folder, a dialog box appeared (all grey -- no text) and Mozilla was left in a hung state. I have no way of knowing what dialog was being displayed. It is likely that it was a "no response from server" type message considering the delay involved. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: This is a guess... 1. Attempt to load a URL that will not yield a response 2. Drag a group of messages from the IMAP inbox 3. Wait for the "no response" dialog Actual Results: Mozilla is non-responsive and X is left in a bad state. Focus is held by Mozilla. Must go to virtual terminal or remote login to kill mozilla-bin. Expected Results: Well, um... not lock up? :-)
OK. I've duplicated the bug consistently. The dialog box that causes the problem for me is labelled "Alert" and says "[hostname] cannot be found. Please check the name and try again." 1. Open browser and mail windows 2. Enter a URL in the browser that will bring up the "hostname cannot be found" alert. 3. While the browser is attempting to contact the above URL, select and drag a message from the mail window (don't drop -- you need to be in drag mode when the dialog pops up.)
