As with Bug 1257058 - Shutdown crash/hang due to endless wait loop when no password is entered | WaitForSingleObjectEx | WaitForSingleObject | _PR_MD_WAIT_CV | _PR_WaitCondVar | PR_WaitCondVar | mozilla::CondVar::Wait | nsEventQueue::GetEvent - there are two crash signatures with similar symptoms. But in this case the user crashes after update

Richard's crash - bp-dddcf79f-eab6-451c-a9f6-923c10190115 [@ shutdownhang | nsThread::Shutdown | nsThreadManager::Shutdown ] - trying to open a .eml attachment from a received email (opened in separate tab). IMAP/SMTP mailbox setup set to synchronise only 3 days worth of emails.

My crash https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/e5b51280-f57a-45e6-851f-1a16b0190715 occurred in the update process, but the crash occurred in the old version. The new version was installed post crash when Thunderbird started.

I've have a user whose version 60 crashes are bug 1524247 and whose version 68 crashes are this bug. #2 crash for 68.4.1.

• bp-dbb218e0-5b77-4179-957a-47d6f0200112 v68
• bp-6b3c2156-2eac-463c-85e6-151b50191104 v60 (just one example of several)

I've now been in touch with several version 68 users with this crash and none have steps to reproduce. None are using Master Password. Note, via bug 1524247 the history of this goes back to fixed bug 1257058 and open bug 1149287. (it is unclear how or whether any of our other password bugs may be related)

Ben, what can you make of the crash signatures, and is there anything we can ask these users to test?
