152653 - problem handling attachments, leads to account setting error messages

Description

first off, this problem has happened to me on two machines, on one it was
immediately after installation but about an hour later inexplicably disappeared
without relaunching or rebooting.

The second machine did not produce the error until a week after the first
despite being installed on the same day, and has not corrected itself despite
relaunching and rebooting - it will not send any message with any attachment -
sit, sea, pdf, eps, anything. Same message will go when attachment removed from
message.

recreate:

attachment added to email - by drag and drop or navigation - displays location
info instead of file name - screenshot here:

a dog, what Build ID are you reporting this bug against? Also, I cannot access your screenshots.

Are your attachments, by any chance, contained in any folders whose names contain a slash 
character?

Yes, i know it's been a while but i've had a lot on my hands, but anyways...

this bug has continued troubling me even though I'm now using 1.1 - 20020826 -
but just a minute ago I figured out a workaround and how to recreate the bug.

if the file to be attached is on the desktop, in a folder on the desktop or on
the first level of the HD it will attach, save and send with a message no probs.
If the file to be attached is placed in a folder on the HD and then dragged onto
the message then mozilla will not send nor save. 

I lost the damn screenshots - I'll dig them up or create some new ones and
repost them.

a dog, be aware that attachment file names containing a slash (or those of
folders that contain the file) will cause the problem you're reporting. It's a
known issue (bug 147075).

re: the slash-in-the-filename issue, Yeah, i've heard of that one - no slashes here.

Also, when i wrote:

admittedly that's not too clear. I didn't mean including the whole folder as an
attachment, just the file itself - if it is in a folder then it's not working.
Take it out of the folder and it works. If it's in a folder on the desktop, then
that's okay.
