Chimera 0.30 Mac OS X 10.1.5 Steps to Reproduce: (1)Go to URL (2)Scroll to the bottom (3)Click on the "About the Bank" popup menu When the menu pops up, it doesn't have the expected list item selected--that is, the item showing before the menu is clicked (in this case, "Select a Topic"). This happens because the menu is positioned near the bottom of the screen, and if it popped up with the item "Select a Topic" selected, it would have to go off the bottom of the screen. Explorer deals with this problem by having an arrow at the bottom of the meny that, when moused over, scrolls down to display the rest of the menu that is off the screen. I hope I've explained myself clearly enough...
WorksForMe using Chimera/20020617. I position the "About the Bank" SELECT near the bottom of the screen and pop up the menu. "Select a topic" is checked, and the bottommost option is selected. Peter, can you retest using a more recent nightly? If it still happens, please attach a screenshot showing how the SELECT is positioned w/r/t the screen bottom.
Works for me too. I do note that it selects the first option ("Overview") when you click the select, but I expect that this is the desired behavior since "Select a Topic" isn't a valid choice. We probably fixed this some time after .3 since Peter says we should have an arrow at the bottom of the menu and this is exactly what 06-18 is doing. Here's a screenshot for comparison.
I do have the latest build, and I still have the problem. Is there something I need to do besides run the new program? Is there a way to tell that I really am running the latest build?
I'm using the 06-19 build and I experience the same behavior as described in comment #2. Peter, perhaps you can attach a screenshot of what you're seeing. No, there's nothing more that you need to do besides downloading the gz file, unstuff it, and copy it to your hard drive.
They're all lined up pretty much exactly at the bottom of the screen.
I made an attachment with some shots of the bug I'm experiencing. One shows Explorer behaving properly. I'm sure that I'm using the latest build with this.
OK, I can reproduce this behavior in 20020620 if I scroll so that the pop-up is at the very bottom of the page.

Confirmed. This doesn't happen with normal Cocoa popup widgets in the same situation.
URL no more correct. no more popup for the bank's description. We need a newer URL for this bug.
http://forums.macnn.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=90 Scroll to the bottom to the forum jump popup. Clicking this the selection appears to be off by one. That means that just clicking and releasing results in an undesired selection (in this case a forum jump). Just clicking and releasing a popup button (i. e. having a look at it) should not change the selection.
WFM 20040109 NB, fixed by patch in Bug 185550?
