Steps to reproduce:
I attempted to visit peoples.com, by typing peoples.com in the URL bar.
I was redirected to www.peoples.com.
I then closed the tab, and tried to visit peoples.com again.
Actual results:
I started typing peoples into the URL bar, but it was autocompleted to people.com.
I have never visited people.com before (bug 1267208).
peoples.com was not in the suggested list of sites at all.
Expected results:
peoples.com should have been in the suggested list of sites, preferably at the top.

Hi Matthew Horan,
Thanks for your time for reporting this bug.
If you are typing people for the first time, It is probably expected that you will see people.com ( Because of Alexa's Rankings show up as search suggestion, probably - https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1267208 ). It is a normal behavior for the first time. But if you go to your desired site once, you should be able to see the sites name as completed in your address bar as suggestion from next time on wards.
Seeing peoples.com in the suggested sites in first place is not probably an expected behavior. This can be an feature/ enhancement request, though.
Please, let us know, if you are seeing otherwise. In such cases, it would be great, if you can provide us with screencast or video to better understand the scenario.
Regards

Tested it - I got redirected to m.peoples.com instead of www.peoples.com, but in any case the redirect target did end up in browsing history, and as such starting to type peoples.com in the URL bar did autocomplete to peoples.com on the next attempt.
So can you check your browsing history and see whether you actually got an entry for (www.)peoples.com after visiting it?

Interesting. My first attempt at reproducing this today resulted in people.com being suggested, but subsequent reproductions behaved as expected, even in private browsing. This is the first time I've seen this actually work as expected. I'm not sure what could have changed, as Firefox has not been updated on my device recently.
I tried another site that was also not completing as expected and it seems fine as well.
