Steps to reproduce:

Be using a wide gamut monitor with color management turned on in Firefox.

So have the following set in about:config-
gfx.color_management.display_profile;/Users/name/Library/ColorSync/Profiles/DELL U2713H.icc (or whatever your color profile is)
gfx.color_management.enablev4;true
gfx.color_management.mode;1

Have fast user switching turned on in System Preferences - Users & Groups - Login Options

Have a web page open in Firefox, go to "Login Window…" under fast user switching, then log back in, and all the colors in the open Firefox will now be dark and muted. The only way I've found to get colors to return to how they should be is to restart Firefox.

Actual results:

After logging back in, all colors in the still open Firefox will be shifted to dark and muted.

Expected results:

Colors should not change.

I'm currently testing this in Firefox 65.0.1 and in macOS 10.13.6, but I've noticed it in many previous versions of Firefox. This is not a new issue.

I've attached a screenshot of how the colors look before and after. I converted it to sRGB so people looking at it on a regular monitor that is not wide gamut should still be able to get a general idea of what is going on.

I was not able to test due to I don't have a wide gamut monitor with color management turned on.

This sounds much more like graphics. Maybe Jeff knows how the color profile stuff works?

Does the problem happen if you don't set 'gfx.color_management.display_profile'? Firefox should just use the system profile in that case.

I just tested it and the issue still happens if no color profile is set in gfx.color_management.display_profile.

I tested it some more and colors shift in Safari and Chrome as well, though not nearly as severe as Firefox, so maybe this is a macOS issue.

I test it in:
Safari version 12.0.3 (13606.4.5.3.1)
Google Chrome version 72.0.3626.109 (Official Build) (64-bit)

I filed a bug report with Apple, so maybe that will help.
