Steps to reproduce:
When window is filled with a single message. Pressed delete button. Or right click and select "delete message"
Actual results:
Appears as though nothing happened. View does not change. If you go back to message list it was actually deleted.
Expected results:
Toolbar delete used to delete and move view to next message.

Do you have "Close message window/tab on move or delete." enabled in Options > Display > Advanced?

It was not checked. It will not stay checked. This problem only started with Thunderbird v 66.

In TB 66 this is caused by bug 1518823 which already has an identical duplicate, bug 1522460.
