User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; Win64; x64; rv:65.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/65.0
Steps to reproduce:
FF version one behind (64.0.2)
- downloaded file, selecting "Open file" instead of save
- Restart to Update
- Update installed (65.0.1), FF reopened
- Closed updated FF
Actual results:
Downloaded file is still present in user %TEMP% even after restarting to update, and exiting updated FF.
Expected results:
File is deleted either on restart FF, or after exiting updated FF session.

Even without any update Firefox occasionally leaves downloaded files in my temp folder seemingly without reason. This won't be fixed if bug 1306336 is implemented.

:Paolo is this something worth doing considering bug 1306336 and if so, do you know who's available to mentor?

Considering that most operating system would clean up the temporary folder periodically, I don't think we might want to spend time and effort on this bug, also because it may be more complicated to fix than it seems at first glance.
Regardless, for new contributors I would recommend starting with bugs marked as "[good first bug]" and possibly with a mentor already assigned, to get a sense of the process first.

This indeed doesn't seem high priority to fix, especially if we might already not delete the files in other cases (I imagine, for instance, that we don't/can't if the user still has the file open in a helper application when Firefox closes).
