User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.1a) Gecko/20020610
BuildID: 2002061014
In the page at http://www.livejournal.com/, especially if the window is fairly
wide, the large textarea is very very slow to accept input text. Also, once
there is enough text to cause it to scroll, every time you enter enough text to
cause it to scroll to a new line, the scroll bar momentarily jumps distinctly to
the left, then jumps back.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to the page listed.
2. Stretch your browser window fairly wide; at least 1000 pixels.
3. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and start entering text in the textarea.
Enter several large paragraphs worth. Now continue typing.
4. At this point, the text input should be distinctly slow. On my machine, I can
type out a sentence, and finish before the first word appears on the screen.
5. Also, now that the textarea is full enough to be scrolling, you may notice
that every time your text causes it to scroll to a new line, the scroll bar at
the right of the textarea jumps noticably to the left, for a split second.
Actual Results: Exactly as described.
Expected Results: Text entry should not have slowed so notably, and the bar
definitely should not have been jumping.
I am running OS X 10.1.5 on a 500 mhz G4 with 394 megs of ram. I use the
pinstripe theme.
Confirmed using FizzillaCFM/2002061014, but this is a duplicate.
Jesse, it appears this problem was very recently fixed. See the duplicate.
