Affected versions

  • 65.0.1, 66.0b11, 67.0a1 (2019-02-25);

Affected platforms

  • Windows 10;
  • macOS 10.13.6 (type not even mentioned in the windows);

Steps to reproduce

  1. Launch Firefox and access any video from www.youtube.com;
  2. Right Click on the video to bring up the youtube context menu;
  3. Right Click on the video to bring up the browser context menu;
  4. Click on the Save Snapshot As option;

Expected result

  • The file type is displayed in the [Save as type] box;

Actual result

  • The box is empty;

Regression range

  • option appears to be introduced with the enabling of flash players so it might be something there that was overlooked'
  • considered good versions ones that where before this, and did not even have the save snapshot option;
  • First bad: 2015-06-17 changeset: d7c148c84594
  • Last good: 2015-06-16 changeset: ce863f9d8864
  • Pushlog: link

Additional notes

  • Ubuntu (18.04) displays the jpeg type in the window;
  • attached screenshot with the issue;
  • apparently, the files are saved as .JPG so it would make sense to either disable the box and/or add the type instead of keeping it empty.

There is no "save snapshot as" option for me. Are there prerequisite steps, like disabling html5 video on youtube in some way, or enabling flash, or perhaps this only appears on some videos?

Yes, you need to right click again for this menu to open.

OK. Just tested on beta 66 on both Windows and Mac. Windows says (*.jpg, *.jpg) and Mac says "Preview Document" just fine.

Can you provide more explicit steps, including what video you're testing on?

As far as STR goes, there is nothing extra other than what was mentioned.
I will still adjust them in comment 0, and add the 1 extra step to get the desired menu - option displayed.

For now I will close the bug as WFM, since I am unable to reproduce as well at this point.
Will reopen this once I can reproduce the issue.
