RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1562490

People

(Reporter: hrdubwd, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:65.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/65.0

Steps to reproduce:

search for a term, highlight all (shift-ctrl-end), delete

Actual results:

Very slow, only about 30 / minute, despite 8 processors at 3.33 GHz and > 20 GB RAM free. Update only every 300 items, so FF appears to freeze, which is worrying the first time. Nothing else can be done, and there is no cancel option. Removing 10,000-odd items takes ages.

Expected results:

I would have expected a fairly rapid rate of deletion, but also to be able to use FF in the meantime. A more sensible indication of progress would be useful to avoid worry that it has failed in some way.

I guess this is a low priority aspect, as I do not suppose large scale deletions are attempted very often, but it is a disappointment that it is not more efficient. I wonder whether it has implications for other aspects of the management of the DB.

In addition, the history categories are misleading or wrong: everything above today includes all more recent items, which is illogical: e.g. "yesterday" includes "today".

I should have said, this is not sidebar but in "Show all history"
