Steps to reproduce:

  • connected Thunderbird to Gmail using IMAP
  • configured email filters on Gmail that allows certain inbound emails pass the inbox and go immediately to a folder (label)

Actual results:

  • filtered inbound email appears in both expected folder and Sent folder

Expected results:

  • filtered inbound email should appear in expect folder only

Have contacted Gmail support who told me this is most likely a Thunderbird issue.

So the email is in the [Gmail]/Sent Mail folder in Thunderbird, but NOT in the Sent folder when you look at the "labels" in the gmail web interface?
