On the Pixel 2, 'mach cppunittest' fails for me locally. When pushing libs to the binary (<testroot>/b) directory, the push fails with permission errors. Creating the directory ahead of time sorts it out.

Geoff: Could we temporarily add android-hw-p2 to the cpp tests and check them ?

This worked out just as I expected, with the same test crashes we see on the emulator, in bug 1530874.
