Steps to reproduce:

  • Launch Firefox
  • Go to Customize mode
  • Move over to the Overflow menu all the items
  • Save and exit customize mode
  • Tap the ">>" icon to open the overflow menu (resize the window if needed to display the scrollbar)
  • Scroll trhough the menu using touch gesture

Expected result:
The menu should remain static without moving around when the list is scrolled.

Will try to find out if it is a regression asap.

Nope. Best guess is somehow related to bug 1299286. But that's a total guess and that landed a while ago whereas this seems life a more recent regression.

Working on it, mozregression gives me some trouble with bisecting further. So far I got this range:

First good: 2107-10-25
First bad: 2017-10-26

By "good" version I found the ones that simply did not expand and create a scrollable area. I just noticed now that opening the browser menu from the hamburger button has actually the same problem if it is scrolled using touch..

ESR version 60.5.2esr is also affected.

Using this, can we find an earlier regression window?

Tried once more but mozzregression doesn't bisect into taskcluster builds anymore, this is a known issue: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1532412#c7
