Specifically I went to ebay.ca in the GVE app on a Kindle Fire HD8. Tapping on the search box at the top doesn't bring up the keyboard. If I force the keyboard up by tapping on the URL bar, then put focus back into the input field and type, the characters don't show up. In general entering input into input fields is pretty terrible - letters often don't register properly, tapping on keyboard-provided suggestions doesn't work, etc. All this works fine in other browsers including the GV reference browser, so I think the IME stuff on GVE is just really poor.
In case it matters, this is a local opt build of GVE but it's basically unmodified m-c (I have a few unrelated gecko patches).

I can't reproduce this problem on a Nexus 4 with a GVE app from CI. So either it's device-specific or I actually screwed up my build somehow. I'll try and narrow down the problem.
