From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.1a) Gecko/20020611 BuildID: 2002061104 menus located on http://developer.netscape.com/viewsource/smith_menu2/menu_hframes.html are not displayed !!! they work fine with ie Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.load the page 2.test the menus 3. Actual Results: nothing !!!!! Expected Results: menu many javascript menus do not work with ie
The menus were written before the standard DOM (which is what Mozilla implements) existed. They use proprietary objects that only exist in NS4 and IE (different objects for each, with different codepaths). Marking invalid, since this is not a Mozilla bug.

Confirming what Boris said. This URL uses an outdated version of menu.js: view-source:http://developer.netscape.com/viewsource/smith_menu2/menu.js As Boris indicated, this file uses only |document.all| or |document.layers|, neither of which are W3C-standard, and neither of which are supported in Mozilla. Let me reopen this, however, and reassign to the Documentation product to see if this site can be corrected - or should this go to Evangelism?

Ever confirmed: true
Steve, what is your feeling about these kinds of bugs filed against netscape documentation ? I don't see that this should be a mozilla.org documentation bug at all. At the most it might be evangelism. We have our own internal devedge/developer documentation bug tracking in bugscape. This particular case is an old, obsolete script living on the devedge archive that doron recently updated to support (to an extent) gecko. We plan to develop a replacement with an identical API but have no schedule for that yet. In any case, doron fixed this.
